It is an awesome privilege to serve our 32 FEBCAST Churches, their staff
and leadership. My role as Regional Director is to be a Pastor’s Pastor, coach and good friend of each
of our Ministry staff. Char and I visit our churches on a regular basis to listen and learn but most of
all to provide support and counsel.
I am accountable to our Lord through the Leadership Board and the Annual Convention of FEBCAST churches.
We produce an Annual Ministry Plan that confirms our Vision, Values and goals and guides our activities
for the next three years. Our prayer is consistent with our Vision, that we would have Healthy leaders,
leading Healthy churches into the Harvest.

Biography
Laurie is a Pastor’s Pastor. As Regional Director for FEBCAST, he prays with, supports and coaches the
Pastors, Ministry staff and lay leadership of 32 churches.
He invested his previous career in advocating for people with barriers. During his tenure as CEO for
Persons with Developmental Disabilities in northwest Alberta he was awarded the Premier’s Award
of Excellence. He also taught leadership and management excellence seminars for the Management
Development Centre at Red Deer College.
Laurie was born and raised in a Christian home in Edmonton, Alberta. He came to the Lord and was
baptized as a youth. His education includes Berean Bible College, his degree in Psychology is from
Wilfrid Laurier University and his Masters in Servant Leadership is from Trinity Western University.
Char graduated from Berean Bible College and has also dedicated her career within the helping field.
Her vocation included Director of North Country Power of Work, Family and Community Support Services
and the Barrhead Regional Employment Centre. Char speaks at ladies retreats and loves to develop
relationships on a one to one so she can get to know the needs of another and better serve as a friend
and believer.
Laurie and Char have spent thirty years leading home Bible studies, have taught Sunday school, led
couples retreats, outreach activities and Christmas banquets. Laurie has served as an elder on three
church boards and felt the call to be the "pastor's best friend" in each of the churches where they
served. Laurie and Char love to serve in any capacity where the Lord has gifted them and they genuinely
love “building the body.” Laurie has served in churches as a lay pastor filling the gap when the church
was between pastors and loves to speak to churches about what God is doing.
Laurie and Char have three adult children and 7 grandkids.
Laurie is often heard to say, “It is an awesome privilege to serve the FEBCAST family. I have the best
job in the world, I get to laugh, pray and cry with Pastors and leaders all day long.”
